Great Scott is Coming Back to Allston 🎸 Get Ready to Rock!

Hey Boston, hold on to your drumsticks and turn up your amps because the legendary Great Scott is making a triumphant return to the stage. After a heart-wrenching hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this iconic music venue is gearing up for an epic comeback.

🌟 A New Chapter for a Timeless Classic

Great Scott, a beloved staple in the Boston music scene since 1976, is reviving its magic just up the street from its original home. Located now at intersection of Harvard Ave and Cambridge Street, this rock 'n' roll sanctuary is set to reopen its doors in 2026 🎉

The news of Great Scott’s closure in 2020 was a major blow to music fans. But, the community rallied like true rockstars, collecting over 25,000 signatures on a petition and raising more than $300,000 through a crowdfunding campaign. It was clear: Boston wasn’t ready to say goodbye to their favorite venue.

🚀 The Dream Team: Rebirth of an Icon

Fast forward to 2023, and Great Scott’s dedicated booking manager, Carl Lavin, wasn’t about to let the legacy fade away. He teamed up with Redefined CEO Paul Armstrong and local real estate maestro Jordan Warshaw from The Noannet Group to find a new home for the venue. And they did it! They scored a prime location just two blocks away from the old site, and now, the magic is set to continue.

Since Great Scott closed four years ago, the support for its reopening has been incredible. In a time when small venues are struggling, this partnership has allowed us to build a new Great Scott that will rock for years to come

🔥 A New Venue with Old Soul

The revamped Great Scott will not only keep the spirit of its predecessor alive but will also up the ante with a sleek new look. Expect a dynamic music hall with a 300-person capacity, perfect for local legends and rising stars. And that’s not all—O’Brien’s Pub, the venue’s longtime buddy, will have its own 75-person space, ensuring that the dive bar vibe you love will be front and center. 🍻

In case you didn’t know, Great Scott is famous for its role in launching the careers of many artists who went on to achieve international fame. Charli XCX, MGMT, Phoebe Bridgers, and many more graced its stage before taking the world by storm. 🎤✨

🎶 A Future Full of Music and Memories

With over $300,000 from the community’s generous contributions now earmarked for the new space, the future of Great Scott is looking bright.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to rock! The revival of Great Scott is not just about reopening a venue; it’s about celebrating a piece of Boston’s cultural soul.

🎸 Rock On, Boston! 🎸
